We took a family trip with our 20-year-old daughter for 13 days in August 2025.
It was a customized trip based on the standard "Discover Mongolia Tour - 14 days", as we only had availability for 13 days.
Northern, Central, and Southern Mongolia: from Khuvsgul Lake to the Gobi Desert. Ulaanbaatar and Terelj National Park.
The value for money on our Discover Mongolia trip was very good. We believe the price was very reasonable for the quality of the services provided...
Oyuna was my guide Nandia was my driver on my Discover Mongolia 16 day tour. It started in Ulaanbaatar and was an extensive trip around the Gobi desert to the south up to the Khuvsgul Lake in the north. There were only three guests.
Oyuna was exceedingly knowledgeable and available virtually 24/7. Her personality was well suited to being a guide and she is a teacher of English in Mongolian schools. Nandia seemed to have knowledge of every pothole in Mongolia and was a great driver with a sense of humour...
I took the Discover Mongolia Tour (14 Days) and added 3 additional days (with 1 additional day at Khongor sang dunes, Kharkhorin and Lake Khurvsgul)). I am so glad for the additional days as it allowed us to spent more time to these spots as opposed to constant travelling.
I have been to many places and would highly recommend Mongolia. It reminds me very much of New Zealand where you have vast lands, more animals than people and very scenic. But you get to see and experience difference things from what you get at New Zealand...
I would highly recommend Discover Mongolia Travel, they are well organized, knowledgeable and above all care about providing the best service possible. I did the Discover Mongolia 16 day trip with the Naadam Festival.
Mongolia is an amazingly beautiful country, from the Gobi desert to the Central plains and into the the Northern Lakes area ,we were constantly surprised with the beauty of the country. Our guide Oyuna was so helpful and informative, she took care of our small group (9 people) to make sure everyone was comfortable and happy.
The owner of this company is an honest person who refunded us US$100 for an additional tour Zaya cheated out of us. The refund came with a small bouquet of flowers with a note of apology for what we had to endure because of Zaya's deceit - giving us an unqualified tour guide who barely spoke (due to extremely limited English and knowledge) and not fulfilling some of the items of our tailor-made tour.
We had flown 5000km to Mongolia to have a special cultural and horseriding experience in Khuvsgul region, only to discover at last minute some agreed items were not possible. At USD 3,300 for 2 persons sharing one accommodation, this tailored 5-day tour is not cheap, but cancellation refund is only 50%...
Our 16 day Mongolian trip in July this year with Discover Mongolia was for Sue and I very special and memorable. It was so well organized and all the many amazing places we visited and things we did every day were exactly as had been itemized in the tripItinerary. We were a group of 9. We travelled in 3 fairly new Lexus 4x4 vehicles. Our route, with a few diversions, was from the Gobi Desert in the south to Lake Khovsgol in the very north.
Our 3 Mongolian drivers were great fun and really good drivers especially off road… theyseemed to navigate by instinct … we never ever got lost…..!! And our Mongolian guide Oyuna was just the best. She spoke perfect English as and had a great understanding and knowledge of Mongolia...
